There’s no better way to show off your garden than with strategically placed outdoor lights. There are so many types of Garden Lights available. You can choose the lights that will best fit to your garden and your feel. Garden lights can be mainly of two types they are low voltage lighting and solar garden lights. A really quick and easy way to add light to the garden, without wiring, is a kit that uses solar cells to collect power during the day and lights up at night. The spherical lights are good for all round illumination.

Walkway lights can define the curve of a sidewalk or an abrupt corner. Directional lights can accent a feature, emphasizing it more at night than in the daylight. Little Italian lights are inexpensive and can be wound around the trunks of sculptural trees to show off their silhouettes. Posts and bollards offer freestanding lighting and can serve as concealing decorative touches. Bollards can be used to illuminate stairs or patio borders; internally lit posts can be integrated into fencing to provide low-profile lighting. Low-voltage umbrella lights add a soft glow above the table.

Use below-grade fixtures for trees in the middle of a lawn so that the light source is hidden and above-grade fixtures are often decorative and work will amidst plants and as accents to pathways. Inexpensive clip lights are good for temporary lighting which can be replaced after a party. Hanging lanterns are a little pricier but produce a stunning effect with lit votive candles floating among the greenery of the garden.

Energy saving florescent lamp produces a very different type of light to a halogen lamp - mercury bulbs produce blue-white light, sodium a yellow light. Flower bed lights are taller overhanging lamps that shed a broader circle of light on a flower bed or border. Non-electric lighting such as torches, paraffin or oil lamps, candles etc can also be highly complimentary to the broader range of effects that can be produced with electric luminaries.
